Feb. 4 (UPI) -- Buffalo Bills safety Micah Hyde will retire from the NFL after 11 seasons, he announced Tuesday on Instagram.

"So much love and way too many thanks," Hyde wrote on the social media platform. "From Fostoria [Ohio] to Iowa City to Green Bay to Buffalo, the goal was to leave an impact.

"That was one helluva dream. On to the next."

Hyde entered the league as a fifth-round pick by the Green Bay Packers in the 2013 NFL Draft. He initially signed with the Bills in 2017. Hyde earned his first and only Pro Bowl selection in his first season with the Bills.

The veteran safety totaled 54 combined tackles, seven passes defensed and two interceptions over 14 appearances for the Bills in 2023.

The Bills signed Hyde to their practice squad in December. He did not appear in any games in 2024-25.

Hyde logged 644 combined tackles, 66 passes defensed, 24 interceptions, 18 tackles for a loss, eight fumble recoveries, five forced fumbles and an interception for a touchdown over his 158 career appearances. He also scored on three punt returns and a kick return.
