MIAMI, Dec. 3 (UPI) -- Isaac Guerendo and Will Levis are among my top fantasy football waiver wire priorities for Week 14 of the 2024 NFL season.
Russell Wilson, Jaleel McLaughlin and the New Orleans Saints defense/special teams are among my other targets.
Many fantasy leagues are entering their final week of the regular season, while some use Week 14 for play-in games or the first round of the playoffs.
Players from the Baltimore Ravens, Denver Broncos, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, New England Patriots and Washington Commanders should be benched, or potentially dropped, as those teams serve Week 14 byes. Check out my list of waiver wire targets below if you need replacement options for those players on bye or injured starters.
Injuries, breakout performances and other factors have cleared the way for several players to warrant a spot on fantasy football team benches or maybe even in starting lineups.
My waiver wire priorities each carry an ownership percentage of 60% or less. Here are my top players to add and top players to drop for Week 14:
ALL-ADD TEAM
QB | Will Levis, Russell Wilson; RB | Isaac Guerendo, Jaleel McLaughlin; WR | Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Elijah Moore; TE | Pat Freiermuth; D/ST | New Orleans Saints; K | Tyler Bass
HONORABLE MENTIONS
QB | Caleb Williams; RB | Tank Bigsby, Ray Davis; WR | Adam Thielen; TE | Mike Gesicki; D/ST | Tennessee Titans; K | Chase McLaughlin
TOP DROPS
QB | Trevor Lawrence; RB | Christian McCaffrey; WR | Devaughn Vele; TE | Taysom Hill; D/ST | Houston Texans; K | Matt Gay
QUARTERBACK
Will Levis is my top quarterback to target off the waiver wire in Week 14. Levis threw multiple touchdown passes in three of his last four starts. The Tennessee Titans quarterback will now get three spectacular matchups over the next four weeks. Levis wasn't an every week starter earlier this season, but is a great streaming play in Week 14 and beyond.
This week, Levis and the Titans will face a Jacksonville Jaguars defense that allowed the most passing yards (284.2), touchdown passes (2.0) and fantasy points per game to quarterbacks through 13 weeks. Levis will face the Cincinnati Bengas in another great matchup in Week 15. He will get a rematch against the Jaguars in Week 17.
The Titans quarterback should be a reliable streaming starter this week, but is also worth adding to benches as a backup for the fantasy football playoffs.
RUNNING BACK
Isaac Guerendo is my top waiver wire target this week. The San Francisco 49ers running back is in line to take on the role of full-time starter after Week 13 injuries sustained by Christian McCaffrey and Jordan Mason. He found the end zone for his second score of the season in Week 13.
Guerendo and the 49ers are now set to face a Chicago Bears defense that tied for allowing the fourth-most rushing yards (116.4) per game to running backs so far this season.
The 49ers rookie can be plugged in as an RB2 or flex play down the stretch.
WIDE RECEIVER
Elijah Moore and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine are my top wide receiver targets. Moore hauled in eight catches for a season-high 111 yards in the Cleveland Browns' Week 13 loss to the Denver Broncos. He caught at least six passes in four of his last six games.
Moore only logged one touchdown through his first 12 appearances this season, but should continue to see targets in what appears to be a high-volume Browns passing game behind quarterback Jameis Winston.
Moore and the Browns will face the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 14. The Steelers allowed the ninth-fewest fantasy points per game to wide receivers so far this season, but surrendered touchdowns to three Cincinnati Bengals wide receivers in Week 13.
Look for the veteran pass catcher to see at least eight targets and to produce WR3 statistics for his fantasy football stock holders.
Westbrook-Ikhine is once again on my waiver wire targets list. The Tennessee Titans pass catcher only eclipsed 61 receiving yards in one game this season, but found the end zone in seven of his last eight appearances. He scored twice in the Titans' Week 13 loss to the Washington Commanders.
Look for Titans quarterback Will Levis to find this playmaker for another score this week against the generous Jaguars secondary.
TIGHT END
Pat Freiermuth found the end zone for the second time in four weeks in the Pittsburgh Steelers' Week 13 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. He also eclipsed 50 receiving yards in three of his last six starts.
Freiermuth, who scored four times so far this season, is a touchdown-or-bust play, but should get plenty of chances in the Steelers' Week 14 matchup with the Cleveland Browns.
The Browns allowed the 10th-most fantasy points per game to tight ends through 13 weeks. They surrendered at least 50 receiving yards to the position in two of their last three games. Hill can be plugged in as a low-end TE1 in leagues with at least 14 teams that require starting the position.
