Nov. 22 (UPI) -- Jason Kelce is joining the late-night TV gauntlet as host of They Call It Late Night With Jason Kelce, starting Jan. 4 on ESPN, the former Philadelphia Eagles star announced.
Kelce made the announcement during an appearance Thursday on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live! The show, produced by NFL Films in conjunction with Kelce's Wooderboy Productions and Skydance Sports, will be filmed in front of a live audience at Union Transfer in Philadelphia.
"We are going to have a bunch of guys up there, legends of the game, friends that I played the game with, coaches, celebrities, while also incorporating NFL Films," Kelce said of the show. "We are going to have a live band, Snack Time, being able to play some of these iconic NFL songs.
"It's going to be a celebration, in Philadelphia."
They Call It Late Night With Jason Kelce will be part of the weekly Friday late-night TV slate -- with the first four episodes set to air 1 a.m. EST each Saturday during the NFL postseason, starting Jan. 4. The finale will air at 1:30 a.m. Feb. 1. Episodes will re-air on ESPN2 and be available on ESPN+ and Kelce's and ESPN's YouTube channels.
ESPN signed Kelce to a multi-year contract in May. He also appears on Monday Night Countdown and is set to work for the network during the NFL playoffs.
Kelce, 37, announced his retirement in March. The seven-time Pro Bowl selection and six-time All-Pro spent his entire 13-year career with the Eagles.
In addition to his work with ESPN, Kelce and his brother -- Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce -- also host the popular podcast New Heights.
In August, Amazon's podcast studio and publisher, Wondery, announced an ad-sales representation and distribution deal for New Heights, worth a reported $100 million.
Jason Kelce and his longtime wife, Kylie, are the parents of three girls: Wyatt Elizabeth, 4; Elliott Ray, 3; and Bennett Llewellyn, 1. Jason and Kylie have continued to attend Chiefs games to support Travis, often sitting in luxury boxes alongside his girlfriend, Taylor Swift.
