Nov. 13 (UPI) -- Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence will not play against the Detroit Lions on Sunday because of a lingering left shoulder injury, coach Doug Pederson announced Wednesday. Lawrence, who also missed the Jaguars' Week 10 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, sustained the sprained AC joint in his non-throwing shoulder during a 28-23 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Nov. 3 in Philadelphia.

"We don't want to put a player out there that's not 100 percent, so we're going to rest him one more week," Pederson told reporters.
Mac Jones is set to start for the Jaguars for the second-consecutive week. The former No. 15 overall pick by the New England Patriots in the 2021 NFL Draft, who joined the Jaguars in an off-season trade, completed 14 of 22 passes for 111 yards, with two interceptions and a fumble in a 12-7 loss to the Vikings on Sunday in Jacksonville, Fla.
He completed 20 of 31 passes for 139 yards in three appearances this season. Journeyman C.J. Beathard is the only other quarterback on the Jaguars roster.
Lawrence, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, missed just one start through his first three seasons.
The Jaguars (2-8) will face the Lions (8-1) at 1 p.m. EST Sunday at Ford Field in Detroit. They will be on bye in Week 12. The Jaguars will return for an AFC South divisional meeting with the Houston Texans on Dec. 1 in Jacksonville.
