Dec. 6 (UPI) -- Los Angeles Chargers star wide receiver Keenan Allen was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday, leaving his availability for Sunday's game against the New York Giants in question.

League sources told ESPN, NFL Media and the Los Angeles Times that Allen was placed on the COVID-19 list after a positive test result. According to the outlets, the Pro Bowl wideout is vaccinated, meaning he can rejoin the team -- if he is asymptomatic -- once he passes two tests at least 24 hours apart.

Under the league's protocols, vaccinated players who are symptomatic must return two negative tests at least 24 hours apart and also be asymptomatic for 48 hours. Vaccinated players who fail to produce two consecutive negative tests can return to their team after 10 days.

"He's day-to-day right now," Chargers head coach Brandon Staley told reporters. "Hopefully we'll have some good news on him in the next few days."

Allen, who has been named to the Pro Bowl in each of the past four seasons, leads the Chargers with 86 receptions and 929 receiving yards this season. He also has tallied four touchdown catches.

The Chargers improved to 7-5 in 2021 after their 41-22 win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, a victory in which Allen notched two touchdown receptions.

Allen was one of 11 NFL players who landed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday. ESPN reported that all of the moves resulted from positive tests.

Cameron Jordan (New Orleans Saints), Jordan Love (Green Bay Packers), A.J. Klein (Buffalo Bills), Jalen Richard (Las Vegas Raiders), Trenton Scott (Carolina Panthers), Wes Martin (New York Giants), Blake Cashman (New York Jets), Evan Brown (Detroit Lions), Stephen Carlson (Cleveland Browns) and Zach Triner (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) also tested positive.
