Seattle Seahawks RB Chris Carson out for TNF game vs. Los Angeles Rams

Oct. 7 (UPI) -- Seattle Seahawks starting running back Chris Carson will miss Thursday night's game against the division rival Los Angeles Rams because of a neck injury.

Carson was initially listed as questionable after failing to practice Tuesday and Wednesday because of what head coach Pete Carroll described as a recurring neck issue that flared up throughout the week. The tailback was still sore Thursday morning, leading to his deactivation.

Alex Collins is expected to receive the bulk of the work in Carson's absence. Collins finished with 78 yards and a touchdown on 12 touches in last week's win over the San Francisco 49ers.

Seattle's other available running backs against the Rams are DeeJay Dallas and Travis Homer.

The Seahawks also will be without tight end Gerald Everett, who remains on the reserve/COVID-19 list. He will miss his second consecutive game.

Defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche, offensive tackles Stone Forsythe and Jake Curhan and cornerback John Reid were the other inactives for the Seahawks.

The Rams' inactives for the Thursday Night Football matchup against Seattle were quarterback Bryce Perkins, linebacker Chris Garrett, offensive lineman A.J. Jackson, tight end Brycen Hopkins and defensive lineman Bobby Brown III.
