Philadelphia Eagles' Isaac Seumalo to undergo season-ending foot surgery

Sept. 28 (UPI) -- Philadelphia Eagles left guard Isaac Seumalo sustained a Lisfranc injury during Monday's game against the Dallas Cowboys that requires season-ending surgery, the team announced Tuesday.

Seumalo is the latest Eagles offensive lineman to suffer a significant injury this season. Philadelphia was already without right guard Brandon Brooks (pectoral) and left tackle Jordan Mailata (medial collateral ligament sprain) in Monday's 41-21 loss to the division rival Cowboys.

The 27-year-old Seumalo was carted off the field after suffering the foot injury in the second half. Nate Herbig replaced him in the starting lineup.

Also Tuesday, the Eagles released tight end Richard Rodgers from the practice squad and placed safety K'Von Wallace on injured reserve.

Wallace separated a shoulder during Monday's game against Dallas. Marcus Epps filled in for Wallace.

The Eagles (1-2) are set to play the Kansas City Chiefs (1-2) at 1 p.m. EDT Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
