Sept. 21 (UPI) -- The Cleveland Browns placed Pro Bowl wide receiver Jarvis Landry on injured reserve with an MCL sprain in his left knee, the team announced Tuesday.

Landry, who will miss at least three games after his placement on IR, suffered the injury on the opening drive of Cleveland's 31-21 win over the Houston Texans on Sunday. After bringing down a 9-yard catch on the Browns' first play, he exited the field and didn't return to the game.

The 28-year-old Landry has missed just one game since his NFL career began in 2014. He was forced to sit out last season against the New York Jets after being deemed a close contact to an individual who tested positive for COVID-19.

Through two games this season, Landry has recorded six catches for 80 yards on six targets, with four of those receptions going for first downs. He also had a touchdown run in the Browns' season opener against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Also Tuesday, the Browns signed defensive end Ifeadi Odenigbo from their practice squad to the active roster. Odenigbo started 15 regular-season games for the Minnesota Vikings last season.
