Aug. 17 (UPI) -- Fans who want to attend Las Vegas Raiders games this season will be required to provide proof of their COVID-19 vaccination through a mobile app, the team announced.

The Raiders, who announced the policy late Monday, are the first NFL team to require fans to be vaccinated at their stadium. Fans can provide proof of vaccination through CLEAR's free mobile app and Health Pass feature. Those fans won't be required to wear masks at games.

"Health and safety has always been our No. 1 priority," Raiders owner Mark Davis said in a news release. "After consultation with [Nevada] Gov. Steve Sisolak and other community leaders, this policy ensures that we will be able to operate at full capacity without masks for fully vaccinated fans for the entire season."

The Raiders also will allow fans to receive vaccinations on-site at Allegiant Stadium before games. Those newly-vaccinated fans will be required to wear a mask, but can attend a game the same day.

The Raiders policy will go into place for their first game, which is also the first Monday Night Football game of the season. They host the Baltimore Ravens at 8:15 p.m. EDT Sept. 13 at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada.

Allegiant Stadium, which holds 65,000 people, and all other NFL stadiums will allow full capacity this season. The Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles announced last week that fans must wear masks when in indoor areas of their stadiums.

The New Orleans Saints announced last week that fans who attend their games in New Orleans are required to provide proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test from the 72 last hours.

The NFL told UPI last week that 91.7% of all players are vaccinated. The Atlanta Falcons announced Monday that all of their players are vaccinated.

The NFL preseason continues when the Eagles host the New England Patriots at 7:30 p.m. EDT Thursday at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.

The regular season starts when the Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers host the Dallas Cowboys at 8:20 p.m. EDT Sept. 9 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla.

The Buccaneers did not require masks or vaccinations for fans at their stadium for their first preseason game Saturday in Tampa.
