July 7 (UPI) -- Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr says he has very specific plans for the 2021 NFL season: beat the Green Bay Packers in the Super Bowl and recruit All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams.

Carr spoke about those plans during an appearance Tuesday on the Cris Collinsworth Podcast. The seven-year veteran was teammates with Adams for two seasons at Fresno State. Both players entered the league through the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

"Davante, he's one of my best friends," Carr said. "I'm gonna offer him whatever I gotta offer. I'll buy him a car, whatever I've got to do I'll offer that man. I know he would fit in great with the receivers we have here. He would fit so well in that room.

"I'm allowed to say those things. Our organization isn't, but I'm going to say it. He's my best friend, I think he's one of the best -- he's the best receiver in the NFL."

Adams led the NFL with 18 receiving scores and pulled in a career-high 115 catches for 1,374 yards in 14 games last season for the Packers. He is under contract through the 2021 season.

Carr also pushed for the Raiders to acquire Adams in June during an interview with ABC 30 Fresno. Adams later told the same news outlet that it "would be a dream" to play with Carr, but he is a "Packer now."

"He's focused on being a Packer, and I know that because I see how he works," Carr told Collinsworth. "I know how he works, and I know how much it means to him. He's focused on that, and I'm focused on trying to get to the Super Bowl, win the Super Bowl, hopefully he's in it so I can beat his butt too.

"That's the plan, then recruit him over to the dark side."

Adams signed a four-year, $58 million contract extension with the Packers in 2017. He said earlier this off-season that his future with the Packers could "potentially" be in doubt if All-Pro quarterback Aaron Rodgers leaves the team.

Pro Bowl tight end Darren Waller led the Raiders with 107 catches for 1,196 yards and nine touchdowns in 16 games last season. Nelson Agholor, who left the team in free agency, led Raiders wide receivers with 896 yards and eight scores.

The Raiders went 8-8 in 2020 and have won more than eight games in a season just once over the past 18 seasons. The Raiders lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their last Super Bowl appearance in 2003. Their last championship came in 1983.
