June 25 (UPI) -- The New York Jets have reached an agreement on a short-term contract with former Washington Football Team offensive tackle Morgan Moses.

League sources told ESPN, NFL Media and the Washington Post on Friday that Moses agreed to a one-year deal with the Jets. The pact is worth $3.6 million in base salary but can reach up to $5.3 million with incentives.

The Jets have yet to confirm the agreement, which is pending a physical.

The WFT released Moses -- who was scheduled to earn $7.75 million in 2021 -- on May 20 to free up additional salary-cap space. He was cut with two years left on his contract.

The 30-year-old Moses is expected to compete with incumbent George Fant at right tackle this season. The Jets previously hosted Moses on a free-agent visit.

"Morgan is a fantastic player. He's played at a very high level," Jets head coach Robert Saleh said recently. "We're not going to shy away from adding good football players."

Moses has been one of the most durable offensive linemen in the NFL in recent years. He has started every game since 2015 -- all but one at right tackle.

A third-round draft pick out of Virginia in 2014, Moses appeared in 104 career games, including 97 starts, for the Football Team.
