Jacksonville Jaguars sign Pro Bowl return specialist Pharoh Cooper

June 3 (UPI) -- The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed former Pro Bowl and All-Pro return specialist Pharoh Cooper.

The Jaguars announced the move Thursday, but the team didn't disclose terms of the agreement. The franchise placed fellow wide receiver Terry Godwin on injured reserve in a corresponding roster move.

Cooper spent the 2020 season with the Carolina Panthers and primarily served on special teams. He recorded a career-low five receptions for 73 yards, but he returned 18 kickoffs for 430 yards and 20 punts for 117 yards.

The Los Angeles Rams selected Cooper in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft out of the University of South Carolina. He spent his first three years in Los Angeles before joining the division rival Arizona Cardinals for parts of two seasons.

Cooper also saw limited action for the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2019 season.

Cooper's best season as a wideout came for the Cardinals in 2019, when he notched a career-best 25 catches for 243 yards and one receiving touchdown.

The 26-year-old Cooper was an All-Pro and Pro Bowler in 2017 after returning 32 punts for 399 yards and 34 kickoffs for 932 yards and a touchdown.

In 61 career games with the Rams, Cardinals, Bengals and Panthers, Cooper has tallied 55 receptions for 506 yards and two total touchdowns (one receiving, one kick return). He also has 729 punt return yards and 2,523 kick return yards.
