Kansas City are 11 to 2 to win Super Bowl LVI, according to Caesars Sportsbook by William Hill. The Green Bay Packers, whom the Buccaneers beat Jan. 24 in the NFC Championship game, have the second-best odds to win the Vince Lombardi trophy next season.
Tampa Bay beat Kansas City 31-9 on Sunday in Super Bowl LV. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw two interceptions and failed to lead the team on a touchdown drive in a game for the first time in his career.
"They were just better than us," Mahomes told reporters Sunday on a Zoom conference call.
The Buccaneers have the third-best odds to win it all, followed by the Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills. The Houston Texans, New York Jets and Detroit Lions are 100 to 1 to win the Super Bowl -- the worst odds among the league's 32 teams.
The Chiefs, Ravens and San Francisco 49ers each were favored over the Buccaneers to win Super Bowl LV before the 2020 season started.
Tampa Bay's odds to win the title this season increased when the franchise signed quarterback Tom Brady in March. The New England Patriots' odds decreased after the then-six-time Super Bowl champion left the team in free agency to sign with the Buccaneers.
The Buccaneers hadn't gone to the playoffs since 2007 before their Super Bowl run this postseason. The team went 5-11 in 2017 and 2018 before a 7-9 campaign in 2019.
Tampa Bay had 11 wins this season, the franchise's highest total since 2005.
"When you bring a winner [Brady] in and he's running the ship, it makes a total difference in your locker room and every time you step on the field."
Super Bowl LVI is scheduled for Feb. 6 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif.
