Sept. 5 (UPI) -- Cleveland Browns star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is dealing with a troublesome hip injury ahead of Sunday's season opener against the Tennessee Titans.

Beckham, who sat out all of the Browns' preseason games, told reporters Thursday that his hip is preventing him "from opening up and sprinting" at his max speed during practice.

"This is something I've never had to deal with," Beckham said. "It's like an extremely fast car with like a little alignment or something off. And it's right in the center of what you need. Now, the car can still go, but it's dangerous, you know what I mean?

"So, it's just something I've been trying to figure out, in and out of rehab every single day. Never really dealt with anything like that."

Beckham, who has endured multiple lower-body injuries in his NFL career, was limited in training camp because of the hip ailment. The wideout returned to full practice activities last week.

Despite the nagging injury, Beckham said his hip won't prevent him from making his Browns debut against the Titans.

"It's getting better," Beckham said. "It's as good as it's going to be until the season starts. It's something that hopefully keeps progressing and gets better and not worse."

The New York Giants traded Beckham to the Browns this off-season. In 12 games last season, he recorded 77 receptions for 1,052 yards and six touchdowns.

UPI ranks Beckham as the No. 4 wide receiver in Week 1. The complete Week 1 wideout rankings can be found here.
