July 30 (UPI) -- J.J. Dielman became the third New England Patriots offensive lineman to retire in 2019, deciding to hang up his cleats before his third NFL season.

Dielman, 25, made the decision official Monday. He was added to the team's reserve/retired list. Dielman entered the league as a fifth round pick by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2017 NFL Draft. The 6-foot-5, 209-pound lineman was released by the Bengals before his 2017 campaign. He was claimed off waivers by the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams released Dielman one week later, before he was signed to the Bengals' practice squad.

Fellow Patriots offensive linemen Jared Veldheer and Brian Schwenke also retired this off-season. Veldheer retired in May. Schwenke retired July 24.
