May 26 (UPI) -- Former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb believes he should be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

McNabb told TMZ Sports he "absolutely" should be a Hall of Famer. The six-time Pro Bowler completed 59 percent of his 5,372 pass attempts for 37,276 yards and 234 touchdowns in 13 seasons.

"I'm not hesitating on that," McNabb said. "I am a Hall of Famer. My numbers speak for itself."

McNabb compared his numbers to Hall of Fame quarterback Troy Aikman, who threw for 32,942 yards and 165 touchdowns in 12 seasons.

Aikman won three Super Bowls with the Cowboys. McNabb lost his only Super Bowl appearance following the 2004 season.

"They always want to add other stuff into it," McNabb said. "'Was he an All-Pro? Was he this? How many Super Bowl opportunities?' But people don't realize how hard it is to get to the NFL Championship. And to get there five times, then make it to a Super Bowl? It's tough."

Twenty-six quarterbacks from the "modern era," which the Hall of Fame says began in the late 1940s, have been inducted into the Hall of Fame. Only 13 of the 26 inductees have more passing touchdowns than McNabb.
