May 24 (UPI) -- Rookie Nick Bosa and veteran defensive back Jimmie Ward will miss the remainder of the San Francisco 49ers' off-season program after sustaining injuries during OTAs.

Bosa sustained a Grade 1 hamstring pull during Tuesday's session, while Ward went down with a fractured collarbone Thursday.

Sources told NFL Network that Ward will miss the rest of the spring. He sustained the injury while diving for a ball during the practice session. The 49ers announced that Bosa will be held out of practice for the next three weeks while receiving treatment.

Ward will have surgery Friday and will miss at least eight weeks, but is expected to be ready for training camp.

The 49ers return to OTAs on Tuesday and Wednesday, before additional sessions on May 31 and June 3, 4 and 6. The team has mandatory minicamp June 11 to 13.

San Francisco re-signed Ward to a one-year, $5 million contract in March. The 49ers selected Bosa with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
