Free agent DE/LB Connor Barwin visiting Miami Dolphins

May 15 (UPI) -- Former Pro Bowl defensive end/linebacker and free agent Connor Barwin is visiting with the Miami Dolphins on Wednesday in Davie, Fla.

Sources informed SiriusXM NFL Radio and the Miami Herald of the visit. Barwin, 32, had 12 tackles and one sack in 15 games last season for the New York Giants.

The Giants cut Barwin in February. Barwin has 368 tackles, 77 tackles for a loss, 56.5 sacks, 44 passes defensed, seven forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries and an interception in 142 games during his 10-year NFL tenure.

He was a second round pick by the Houston Texans in the 2009 NFL Draft. The 6-foot-4, 255-pound pass-rusher had a career-high 14.5 sacks during his 2014 Pro Bowl campaign with the Philadelphia Eagles. Barwin played the first four seasons of his career with the Texans before signing with the Eagles in 2013.

He had 34 tackles and five sacks in 14 games for the Los Angeles Rams during his 2017 campaign.

The Dolphins have defensive ends Dewayne Hendrix, Jonathan Woodard, Charles Harris, Tank Carradine and Jonathan Ledbetter on the roster. Miami's rostered linebackers include: Andrew Van Ginkel, Tre Watson, Mike Hull, Kiko Alonso, Sam Eguavoen, Tyrone Holmes, Quentin Poling, Raekwon McMillan, James Burgess, Jerome Baker, Terrill Hanks, Jayrone Elliott and Chase Allen.
