May 15 (UPI) -- Josh Rosen says Arizona Cardinals general manager Steve Keim never spoke to him about the franchise taking Kyler Murray in the 2019 NFL Draft or the quarterback's trade to the Miami Dolphins.
Rosen made the comments on Tuesday during an appearance on The Rich Eisen Show. The No. 10 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft was traded to the Dolphins on the second day of the 2019 NFL Draft, a day after the franchise supplanted the former UCLA quarterback with Murray as the No. 1 overall pick.
Rosen didn't mention Keim by name, but he did say his "old general manager." Keim is the only general manager Rosen has had in his young career, prior to joining the Dolphins in April.
"The only thing that really did kind of frustrate me through this whole process was like I still haven't heard from my old GM," Rosen told Eisen. "I hadn't talked to him for months before. Still haven't talked to him after. That was kind of frustrating, but for the most part, I'm just ready to put that whole chapter behind me and keep pushing on and playing football."
Rosen enters Dolphins OTAs in a competition with veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick for the team's starting quarterback job. He said new Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury called him just before the Cardinals selected Murray at No. 1 overall.
Rosen's agent also called him before the pick. The Dolphins quarterback said he has "the most respect" for Kingsbury and he doesn't slight anyone for making "business decisions they think are best for them and their family."
Kingsbury -- who was hired this off-season to replace fired first-year head coach Steve Wilks -- also called Rosen the day after the draft to wish him good luck.
"But that's kind of all you can really ask for in this game," Rosen said. "People make decisions for whatever reason. But as long as they are men about it and they respect someone's career, then I can appreciate that."
Kingsbury told Rosen that he didn't know how the situation would unfold in Arizona, immediately following the Murray selection.
"And I responded, 'I don't really know what happens either.' But regardless, at least he gave me the courtesy of giving me the call," Rosen said. "I love everyone in that building, with the exception of maybe one or two guys there."
Keim traded the No. 15 overall pick, a third round pick and a fifth round pick in order to move up to the No. 10 pick and select Rosen in the 2018 NFL Draft. The Dolphins traded the Cardinals a second round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft and a fifth round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft in exchange for Rosen.
