Texans sign former Raiders, Bills RB Taiwan Jones

May 14 (UPI) -- The Houston Texans have signed former Oakland Raiders and Buffalo Bills running back Taiwan Jones.

Jones' agent announced the signing Monday. The fourth round pick in the 2011 NFL Draft did not record a catch or a rushing attempt in six games last season for the Buffalo Bills. He was mainly used on special teams, where he returned five kicks.

The Eastern Washington product spent his first six seasons with the Raiders before joining the Bills in 2017. He has 183 yards on 44 carries in 80 career NFL appearances. Jones, 30, has 251 yards and a touchdown on 18 catches during his NFL career. He has averaged 23 yards on 82 punt returns.

Houston also has running backs Lamar Miller, D'Onta Foreman, Josh Ferguson, Buddy Howell, Karan Higdon and Damarea Crockett on the roster.

The Texans have OTAs on May 20, 21, 23, 28 though 30, and June 3, 4 . 6 and 7.
