Feb. 12 (UPI) -- New England Patriots safety Patrick Chung shared a gruesome photo of his post-surgery broken arm scar from the injury he suffered during the Super Bowl.
Chung shared the photo Monday on Instagram. It showed the 23 stitches put in his broken right forearm. Chung sustained the injury during the third quarter while trying to tackle Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley.
He did not return to the game, which the Patriots won 13-3 on Feb. 3 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
"23 stitches. Coincidence??? I think not! Hahaha #keepbeingsavage is my new hash," Chung wrote for the Instagram caption.
Chung had four tackles and a pass defensed in Super Bowl LIII before the injury. He posted about having successful surgery on Friday.
"Surgery is good fellows," Chung said. "I'm right back."
Chung, 31, had 84 tackles, three passes defensed, an interception, a fumble recovery and 0.5 sack in 15 games this season for the Patriots. He is now a three-time Super Bowl champion.
