Fired Green Bay head coach Mike McCarthy is expected to have his choice of head coaching jobs in 2019 if he wants to return to the sidelines.

There are numerous reports he already has received overtures from teams who are expected to have openings. McCarthy still had one year left on his contract with Green Bay before being terminated and can sit out the 2019 season and still get paid.

One potential landing spot could be Cleveland where interim head coach Gregg Williams has not been given any guarantee of having the interim tag removed.

Cleveland general manager John Dorsey and McCarthy worked together from 2006-2012 in Green Bay and shaped the Packers' roster. In addition to Dorsey, the Browns' front office includes former Green Bay executives Alonzo Highsmith and Eliot Wolf.

In 13 seasons with Green Bay, McCarthy was 125-77-2. He coached the Packers to a victory in Super Bowl XLV.
