Los Angeles Rams linebacker Samson Ebukam was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week, the NFL announced Wednesday.

Ebukam scored two touchdowns off turnovers in the Rams' 54-51 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday night.

The 23-year-old Ebukam returned a fumble off an Aaron Donald strip-sack for his first score before finding the end zone after an interception later in the game. He also contributed to a pick by teammate Marcus Peters in the waning moments of the contest when he hit Patrick Mahomes' arm while he was throwing.

"I think we're so happy for him just because he works so hard," Rams head coach Sean McVay said of Ebukam. "He does all those little things the right way and to be able to have an opportunity present itself and for him to be able to capitalize in two instances last night where he ends up getting the two touchdowns was great.

"I think anytime that you're able to have success, you can use those experiences to draw confidence from. He's been a confident player that's continued to get better."
