Nov. 20 (UPI) -- If you are still lucky enough to be in contention for the fantasy football playoffs, don't stop trying to improve your squad on the waiver wire.

That is why I have provided some of my top waiver wire add/drops for Week 12. There are several players you should drop from your squad in order to prepare for a late push. That should give you some room for depth in the form of handcuffs or high-upside plays to fill up weaknesses.

The Los Angeles Rams and Kansas City Chiefs are on a bye this week, meaning you should not have those players in your starting lineup. But you should definitely keep those players around because they are likely difference makers for your squad.

Here are my top players to add and top players to drop for Week 12.

ALL-ADD TEAM

QB | Lamar Jackson; RB | LeGarrette Blount, Gus Edwards; WR Tre'Quan Smith, Josh Reynolds; TE | Cameron Brate; D/ST | New England Patriots; K | Stephen Gostkowski

HONORABLE MENTIONS

QB | Jameis Winston; RB | D'Onta Foreman; WR | Chris Conley; TE | Jack Doyle; D/ST | Pittsburgh Steelers

TOP DROPS

QB | Ryan Fitzpatrick, Alex Smith; RB | Javorius Allen, Corey Clement; WR | Devin Funchess, Nelson Agholor; TE | O.J. Howard

QUARTERBACK

Lamar Jackson is my quarterback to add in Week 12. That has a lot to do with his ceiling. The Baltimore Ravens playmaker did not throw a touchdown in Week 11, but he did rush for 117 yards. If Joe Flacco remains out and Jackson starts throwing touchdowns, he could be huge for quarterback-needy teams in fantasy football.

RUNNING BACK

LeGarrette Blount is one of my top running back adds for Week 12. The Detroit Lions veteran was forced into action in Week 11 after Kerryon Johnson left with an injury. He could now be in line for a big workload and land in RB2 territory given the matchup. Add Blount even if you don't need a starter at the possession.

Ravens running back Gus Edwards is now relevant in fantasy football circles after rushing for 115 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries in Week 11 against the Cincinnati Bengals. He should see more action once again in Week 12 against the Oakland Raiders. Edwards has an RB2 ceiling in good matchups and is great depth down the stretch.

WIDE RECEIVER

New Orleans Saints pass-catcher Tre'Quan Smith has stepped up as the No. 2 wide receiver in one of the most prolific offenses in football. He erupted in Week 11 for 157 yards and a touchdown on 10 receptions. I expect more targets for the speedster in Week 12 against the Atlanta Falcons. Smith as WR3 upside in this matchup and beyond.

TIGHT END

Cameron Brate is now officially the guy in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' offense when it comes to tight ends. O.J. Howard is now on injured reserve, meaning Brate's productivity should elevate as he sees more time on the field. He is a must-own tight end in leagues that require starting the position.
