Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green missed practice on Wednesday, but coach Marvin Lewis said he is "ready to get back to work."

Green is dealing with a toe injury and hasn't played since Week 8. The perennial Pro Bowl selection has 687 yards and six touchdowns on 45 catches this season.

Lewis said Green has irritation and is working on his "ability to extend."

"Any time a guy goes out there, there's a risk of more [injury]," Lewis told reporters. "A.J. has worked hard and is ready to get back to work. Hopefully we'll get work in the rest of this week. We're going to hold him [from practice] today, so everyone can relax."

Lewis said he expects Green to practice the rest of the week and he will play if he "feels good enough to go."

"If he feels good enough to go and we judge him good to go by our eyes, he'll be good to go," Lewis said.

The Bengals battle the Cleveland Browns at 1 p.m. on Sunday at Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati.
