Bears' Chase Daniel likely to start vs. Lions

Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Chase Daniel is likely to start for the Chicago Bears when they take on the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving.

The Bears listed starting quarterback Mitchell Trubisky as doubtful for the 12:30 p.m. matchup. Sources told ESPN and NFL Network that Daniel is now more "likely" than Trubisky to start the NFC North clash.

"I know the offense like the back of my hand ... so there's a very good comfort level there," Daniel told reporters Tuesday.

Trubisky is dealing with a shoulder injury and woke up sore today with less movement than expected in the region, according to ESPN.

Daniel is in his 10th season. He has not thrown a pass this year, but completed 67.6 percent of his throws for 516 yards, five scores and three interceptions in the preseason. For his career, Daniel has completed 65.4 percent of his throws for 480 yards, one score and one interception in 60 games. He has two career starts.

The Lions have allowed the fifth-most passing scores in the NFL.
