Cardinals sign K Matt McCrane, cut WR Kendall Wright

Nov. 17 (UPI) -- The Arizona Cardinals have signed kicker Matt McCrane and released wide receiver Kendall Wright.

Arizona also elevated defensive end Vontarrius Dora to the active roster from the practice squad and released cornerback David Amerson. The Cardinals announced the roster moves on Saturday.

Dora entered the NFL in 2016 as an undrafted free agent signing by the Denver Broncos. The Louisiana Tech product also spent time with the Broncos and Indianapolis Colts' practice squads before joining the Cardinals' practice squad in 2017. The 6-foot-4, 256-pound defender spent the preseason with the Cardinals before being waived/injured on Sep. 2. He re-signed to the Cardinals' practice squad on Oct. 30.

Dora appeared in one game in 2016 for the Broncos.

McCrane originally joined the Cardinals as an undrafted rookie free agent signing in May. The Kansas State product was released on Sep. 1. McCrane played in three games this season with the Oakland Raiders after signing with the team on Sep. 26. He made 5-of-9 attempts and five extra points before being released by the Raiders on Oct. 23. McCrane was on the Cardinals' practice squad before being released on Oct. 30.

Cardinals kicker Phil Dawson is listed as questionable for Week 11 as he deals with a right hip injury. The Cardinals host the Oakland Raiders at 4:05 p.m. on Sunday at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz.
