Miami Dolphins coach Adam Gase announced Wednesday that quarterback Ryan Tannehill will miss his fifth straight contest when the team visits the Green Bay Packers this weekend.

Brock Osweiler once again will get the nod on Sunday in favor of Tannehill, who has been sidelined with a right shoulder injury.

Sunday's contest will mark the 25th game missed due to injury for the 30-year-old Tannehill since Gase became Dolphins coach in 2016.

Miami (5-4) will enter its bye week after Sunday's contest versus Green Bay (3-4-1). Gase said that the team is hopeful that Tannehill will return to action in Week 12 against the Indianapolis Colts on Nov. 25.

The 6-foot-4, 207-pound Tannehill has completed 85 of 129 passes for 972 yards with eight touchdowns and five interceptions on the season.

With Tannehill at the helm, Miami averaged 192.2 passing yards, 288.2 total yards and 19.8 points per game.

The Dolphins have posted a 2-2 mark with Osweiler starting the last four contests.

Osweiler is 90 of 141 for 1,034 yards with six touchdowns and three interceptions in five games. The 27-year-old failed to throw a scoring strike for the second straight week and had just 139 yards passing in Sunday's 13-6 win over the New York Jets.
