Nov. 6 (UPI) -- Tennessee Titans safety Kevin Byard did his best Terrell Owens impression by dancing on the Dallas Cowboys star on Monday Night Football.
Byard pulled off the stunt with 3:30 remaining in the first quarter of the Titans' 28-14 victory at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott faced a 2nd and goal from the Tennessee 6-yard-line on the play. He looked to his left, trying to hit wide receiver Amari Cooper, but Byard came up with an interception in the end zone. Byard celebrated by jetting out of the end zone and sprinting to the star.
He held his arms out wide, mimicking Owens' classic antic from 2000 when the Hall of Famer was a member of the San Francisco 49ers. Owens was hit hard by members of the Cowboys for pulling the stunt back in the day.
Byard was hit by Cowboys cornerback Byron Jones on Monday.
"It's just something I thought about at the hotel, thinking about Monday night in Dallas," Byard told reporters. "I was thinking, 'What can I do if I make a play?" And really just to show the team we are not scared. We are here to play ball, and here to win the game. I made the play and I ran straight to the 50-yard line."
While ESPN commentator -- and former Cowboys tight end Jason Witten -- didn't appreciate the celebration, Owens embraced the reference.
"I gave 'em the drip, they sucked it up, I got 'em on it," Owens posted on Twitter.
"I feel like I've seen this before."
Byard was not given a penalty for the celebration. The All-Pro defender had five tackles and a pass defensed, in addition to the interception.
The Titans host the New England Patriots at 1 p.m. on Sunday at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass.
