Four days after returning to the lineup, Green Bay Packers wide receiver Geronimo Allison could be back on the shelf.

Allison injured his groin during Thursday's practice, putting his availability in doubt for Sunday's matchup against the New England Patriots.

"We'll see where he is tomorrow," Packers coach Mike McCarthy told reporters after Thursday's practice, per ESPN.

Allison had missed two games due to a concussion and hamstring injury before returning against the Los Angeles Rams last weekend. He had one catch for 14 yards.

It marked the first time since Week 3 that Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers had his top three wide receivers on the field. Randall Cobb also returned to the lineup against the Rams after sitting out three games.

Before he was hurt in Week 4, Allison had emerged as the Packers' best deep threat. The second-year wideout had 19 receptions for 289 yards and two touchdowns through the first four games. Allison set season highs with six catches for 80 yards in a 22-0 win over Buffalo on Sept. 30.

Green Bay does have depth at the position, especially with the return of Cobb, who had four catches for 40 yard in the 29-27 loss to Los Angeles.

Rookies Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Equanimeous St. Brown, selected in the fifth and sixth round, respectively, of this year's NFL Draft, each had two catches against the Rams, including a 40-score touchdown by Valdes-Scantling.
