The revolving door at wide receiver continues for the Cleveland Browns.

Just as Rashard Higgins was returning to practice, rookie Antonio Callaway turned his ankle Thursday and was unable to practice Friday.

It's unclear if either player will be available for Sunday's home matchup against the high-powered Kansas City Chiefs.

The Browns entered the preseason with a glut of talent at the position, acquiring Jarvis Landry from Miami via trade and drafting Callaway to go along with holdovers Josh Gordon and Corey Coleman.

The trades of Coleman and Gordon, along with the early struggles of Callaway, provided an opportunity for Higgins, who had 15 of his 16 catches in a four-game stretch before spraining a medial collateral ligament that forced him to sit out the past three contests.

Higgins was hurt in the fourth quarter against the Baltimore Ravens on Oct. 7. He had three catches for 66 yards and a touchdown in that game to boost his season totals to 16 receptions for 44 yards.

A fifth-round pick out of Colorado State in the 2016 NFL Draft, Higgins had 27 receptions for 312 yards and a pair of touchdowns last season.

Callaway was a fourth-round pick out of Florida this season. He had numerous off-field issues at Florida that caused his stock to plummet in the draft.

The 5-foot-11, 200-pound Callaway showed enough in preseason for Cleveland to trade away former first-round pick Coleman to Buffalo. He has 21 catches for 236 yards and two touchdowns, including a season-high five catches for 36 yards and a score in last week's 33-18 loss at Pittsburgh.

The Browns will play their first game since overhauling their coaching staff on Monday. Head coach Hue Jackson and offensive coordinator Todd Haley were fired on Monday.

Defensive coordinator Gregg Williams was elevated to interim head coach while Freddie Kitchens replaced Haley.
