Police correct arrest report on Cardinals GM Steve Keim

Arizona Cardinals general manager Steve Keim did not misidentify himself following his arrest for driving under the influence on July 4.

Police in Chandler, Ariz., initially filed a report that stated Keim identified himself as the team's director of security while being interviewed by an officer.

However, the Chandler Police Department on Wednesday announced that an officer misunderstood Keim's statement and, upon reviewing footage of the arrest, will correct that portion of the report.

Keim was arrested during a traffic stop after police noticed he was driving "erratically" and smelled alcohol on his breath. Keim told police that he had two beers while eating pizza.

According to the police report, Keim refused to participate in a number of sobriety tests. Keim also told police that he had a previous DUI conviction in 1996, the year that he graduated from North Carolina State.

Keim, who could be in violation of the NFL policy on personal conduct, apologized in a statement released through the team on the day of his arrest.

Cardinals president Michael Bidwill weighed in on the incident Tuesday, vowing there will be consequences for what he termed "inexcusable" behavior by the general manager.

Keim has been with Arizona's organization since 1999, serving in a number of capacities. He was promoted to general manager in 2013.
