July 11 (UPI) -- Arizona Cardinals running back David Johnson showed off his strength Wednesday by doing three squat reps of 495 pounds.

Johnson pulled off the stunt before posting it to his Instagram account.

"'Been fighting all my life, prepared for the pain and the strife!' #BornReady #495lbs," he wrote on the Instagram caption.

Johnson, 26, had a league-best 2,118 yards from scrimmage and 20 touchdowns during the 2016 season for the Cardinals. He was poised for another huge workload during the 2017 season but injured his wrist in Week 1 and was placed on injured reserve, ending his season.

He had wrist surgery in September and had his cast removed in November. Johnson said in May that his goal is to record 1,000 rushing yards and 1,000 receiving yards in the same season, a feat he nearly accomplished in 2016.

Johnson missed the Cardinals' minicamp, but has profiled his workouts and post-surgery progress with videos on his social media accounts. He posted a video of himself moving his fingers while wearing the cast in October. Johnson posted a video of himself jumping out of a pool in February and was running with his Cardinals teammates in April at OTAs.

The 2016 All-Pro and Pro Bowl selection is playing on the final year of his rookie contract and is due $1.88 million.
