Free-agent safety Ron Parker agreed to a contract with the Atlanta Falcons, the team announced Monday.

The Falcons did not divulge the terms of the deal for Parker, but NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported that it was a one-year deal.

Parker is expected to provide depth for the Falcons behind Pro Bowl selection Keanu Neal and Ricardo Allen.

The 30-year-old Parker was released by the Kansas City Chiefs in March. He was just two seasons into a five-year, $25 million contract he signed in 2015.

Parker was a starter for the Chiefs in each of the past four seasons. He had 67 tackles, four passes defended and two interceptions in 2017.

Parker recorded 318 tackles, nine interceptions, seven sacks, five forced fumbles and five fumble recoveries with the Seattle Seahawks, Carolina Panthers and Chiefs since entering the league in 2012.
