Randall Cobb's availability for the start of training camp is in question as the Green Bay Packers wide receiver is nursing an ankle injury, according to a published report.

According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Cobb was seen wearing a walking boot on his right ankle at an airport. The 27-year-old said the injury is "temporary," but did not divulge how or when it happened or if surgery was required.

Cobb participated in organized team activities and was on the field as recently as June 4, the final practice open to the media. He was one of 16 select veteran players excused from the Packers' mandatory minicamp on June 12 by head coach Mike McCarthy.

With Jordy Nelson now a member of the Oakland Raiders, Cobb serves as the elder statesman of the Packers' receiving corps.

Cobb had 66 receptions for 653 yards and four touchdowns in 15 games last season.

He joins Davante Adams and offseason acquisition Jimmy Graham as the primary targets for quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
