June 19 (UPI) -- Hall of Fame wide receiver Terrell Owens showed that he still has wheels, running a 4.43 40-yard dash recently during training.

Owens scorched the track Monday at Elvin C. Drake Stadium on the UCLA campus, alongside Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones.

The 44-year-old was clocked at the finish line with times of 4.44 and 4.43.

"He got down there then," Jones said in a video Owens posted on his Instagram account.

"Numbers don't lie baby. Sign this man already," another man said in the video.

"I didn't even get a good start," Owens said.

The 6-foot-3 Owens still appears to be in playing shape, despite being removed from the game for eight years. The five-time All-Pro and six-time Pro Bowl selection has flirted with a return to the NFL for years.

In June he sent a tweet to San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch saying that he knew quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo was going to "need a big play receiver this year" at some point.

"Let's make it happen," he said. Owens also included a reference to receiving the veteran minimum salary in order to suit up in San Francisco.

Owens told SiriusXM Radio in May that he could help out the 49ers, Kansas City Chiefs, Green Bay Packers, Pittsburgh Steelers and Seattle Seahawks.

On June 7, Owens announced that he will not attend his enshrinement ceremony into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
