Safety Ricardo Allen signed his restricted free-agent tender to remain with the Atlanta Falcons, Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com reported on Monday.

The second-round tender is worth $2.914 million, a significant raise from the $615,000 that Allen made in 2017.

"Coming from Pick 147 to being cut and spending a whole year on the practice squad, then next switching positions and playing something I've never played before to securing (nearly) $3 million this year for my family," Allen said. "I don't think there is anyone around that doesn't think I can/shouldn't make more, but I'm grateful."

Allen recorded 54 tackles and one interception in 15 games last season. The 26-year-old has collected 212 tackles, six interceptions and one sack in 46 career contests since being selected by the Falcons in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL Draft.
