The Chicago Bears signed free-agent outside linebacker Kasim Edebali, the NFL Network reported Thursday. Edebali was on the roster of four different teams last season, seeing action in 13 combined games with the Denver Broncos and Detroit Lions.
The 28-year-old Edebali spent one week with the Los Angeles Rams in late December before he was acquired from the New Orleans Saints on waivers from the Rams.
An undrafted free agent out of Boston College, the 6-foot-2, 253-pound Edebali initially signed with the Saints in 2014 when current Bears general manager Ryan Pace was a member of the New Orleans organization.
Edebali appeared in all 16 games in each of his three seasons with the Saints, making one start, and recorded 48 tackles and eight sacks. He set a career high with five sacks in 2015.
