Right tackle Byron Bell announced over social media that he has signed with the Green Bay Packers.

"Done deal," Bell posted on Instagram on Tuesday with the Packers' logo.

The Packers announced the move on Wednesday for Bell, who could find himself as the team's starter until fellow right tackle Bryan Bulaga returns from his second career ACL injury. The 29-year-old Bulaga has also torn his ACL in his left knee, causing him to miss the 2013 season.

Bell, who has experience at both guard and tackle, started two games last season with the Dallas Cowboys after signing a one-year, $2 million deal. He replaced injured left tackle Tyron Smith and relieved an ineffective Chaz Green, who permitted then-Atlanta Falcons defensive end Adrian Clayborn to record the first five of his six sacks on the day.

The 29-year-old Bell started all 16 contests in the previous season with the Tennessee Titans after a four-year stint with the Carolina Panthers, who signed him as an undrafted free agent.

Bell, who is listed at 6-foot-5 and 320 pounds, recently worked out with the New York Jets.

Jason Spriggs, a former second-round pick, was used as the Packers' right tackle during last week's organized team activities. Kyle Murphy is also a candidate for the starting nod.
