Buffalo Bills wide receiver Zay Jones underwent knee surgery last week and will miss the remainder of the team's spring practices, coach Sean McDermott announced Thursday.
"At this point we aren't concerned this injury will jeopardize his season," McDermott said.
McDermott did not provide a timetable for the return of Jones, who is expected to start opposite Kelvin Benjamin this season.
The 23-year-old Jones recorded 27 receptions for 316 yards and two touchdowns during his rookie season in 2017 with the Bills, who selected him with a second-round pick out of East Carolina.
Jones made bigger headlines in a bizarre incident in March when he was arrested on suspicion of felony vandalism.
Video of the incident showed him naked in a hallway in an apartment building, arguing with his brother, Cayleb Jones, who is a wide receiver with the Minnesota Vikings. Prosecutors declined to pursue criminal charges, citing insufficient evidence.
In addition to Jones and Benjamin, the Bills have Andre Holmes, Kaelin Clay, Jeremy Kerley, Brandon Reilly and Rod Streater on their wide receiver depth chart.
