Cornerback Senquez Golson was released by the Oakland Raiders on Wednesday, Field Yates of ESPN reported.

Golson was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the second round of the 2015 NFL draft, but still has not played in an NFL game after being an All-American at Mississippi.

The Steelers expected Golson to be an impact player, but he was released before last season after missing his rookie year because of a shoulder injury and 2016 because of a foot injury.

Golson was signed to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last season and spent only a week on their practice squad before being released, and was unemployed until being signed by the Raiders last month.
