Los Angeles Chargers tight end Hunter Henry suffered a torn ACL in practice Tuesday, the team announced.

The injury occurred while Henry was running downfield during a drill. He was untouched on the play, according to ESPN.

Henry will have a second opinion Wednesday, according to ESPN, but the injury more-than-likely ends his season before it even started.

Henry was expected to be the go-to option at tight end. He had 45 catches for 579 yards and four touchdowns in his second season out of Arkansas last season. His 12.9 yards-per-catch average was also third best in the NFL among tight ends.
