New England Patriots left guard Joe Thuney is nursing a foot injury that will require surgery, ESPN reported on Thursday.

Per the report, Thuney is expected to miss Organized Team Activities but be back in time for the start of the regular season.

Thuney has started all 32 regular-season games and six playoff contests for the Patriots since they selected him in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft out of North Carolina State. In total, the 25-year-old Thuney has missed nine snaps during his NFL career.

New England is adjusting to losing left tackle Nate Solder to the New York Giants in free agency.

The Patriots selected Isaiah Wynn with the 23rd overall pick of the first round and acquired fellow offensive tackle Trent Brown from the San Francisco 49ers the following day.

New England sent its third-round selection (No. 95 overall) to the 49ers in exchange for Brown and San Francisco's fifth-round selection (No. 143) in this year's draft. The 6-foot-8, 355-pound Brown started all 16 games for the 49ers in 2016 and 10 games last year before sustaining a season-ending shoulder injury.
