The New York Giants reportedly added depth behind quarterback Eli Manning on Wednesday.

Journeyman backup Alex Tanney announced on Twitter that he is joining the Giants, who have yet to confirm the move.

Tanney, who was released by the Tennessee Titans this week, joins 2017 third-round pick Davis Webb and 2018 fourth-round selection Kyle Lauletta in backing up Manning, 37, on the depth chart.

In addition to the Titans, the 30-year-old Tanney also spent time with the Kansas City Chiefs, Dallas Cowboys, Cleveland Browns, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Buffalo Bills and Indianapolis Colts. He officially played in just one NFL game, completing 10 of 14 passes for 99 yards and a touchdown for the Titans in their 30-24 loss to the Colts during the 2015 season.

In a quarterback-heavy draft, the Giants elected to select Penn State running back Saquon Barkley with the second overall pick on Thursday night.
