NFL commissioner Roger Goodell clocks 5.41 in 40-yard dash

March 5 (UPI) -- NFL commissioner Roger Goodell tried out the 40-yard dash on Monday, clocking in a run of 5.41 seconds.

Goodell performed the sprint while decked out in dress shoes and a full suit while between cubicles on the fifth floor at the NFL headquarters in Manhattan. Several executives from the league posted footage of the jaunt on social media.

"That's better than last time," Goodell said in the videos.

Goodell, 59, ran the 40-yard dash in 5.53 seconds in 2015.

He performed the sprint as part of the #RunRichRun charitable campaign to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. NFL Network host Rich Eisen's dash has raised more than $650,000 since he began the sprints at the 2005 NFL Scouting Combine.

Eisen also ran the 40 on Monday, clocking in at 5.97 seconds at the 2018 NFL Scouting Combine. He ran the 40 in 6.02 seconds in 2017 and in 6.10 seconds in 2015. Eisen wore cleats during his sprint.

"You know that's the best form that you have ever [had]," Eisen's NFL Network colleague Deion Sanders said.

Sanders ran a 4.27-second 40 yard dash at the 1989 NFL Scouting Combine.

Ohio State's Denzel Ward, Tulane's Parry Nickerson and LSU's Donte Jackson ran the fastest time at the 2018 NFL Scouting Combine, clocking in at 4.32 seconds.
