Cornerback Vontae Davis is scheduled to meet with the San Francisco 49ers on Tuesday, according to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Davis, who is the younger brother of former 49ers tight end Vernon Davis, became a free agent after the Indianapolis Colts released him during the 2017 season. The 29-year-old met with the Buffalo Bills and Cleveland Browns last week.

The two-time Pro Bowl selection reportedly has been cleared after having core muscle surgery following his release in Indianapolis.

Davis has collected 395 tackles, 22 interceptions and 2.0 sacks over 120 career games with the Dolphins and Colts since being selected by Miami with the 25th overall pick of the 2009 NFL Draft.

San Francisco could benefit from a boost at the cornerback position with Dontae Johnson heading toward free agency. The 26-year-old, who registered 77 tackles and one interception in 2017, has played in all but one game during his four-year career with the 49ers.
