Feb. 4 (UPI) -- New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady originally told wife Gisele Bundchen that 2016 would be his last season. Now he says he wants two more Super Bowls.
The 40-year-old gunslinger revealed the insight on the latest episode of his Facebook Watch docu-series Tom vs. Time. He posted the episode to his social media accounts on Sunday.
The 20 minute video begins with Brady and his family vacationing in Costa Rica. He talks about spirituality being his deepest purpose and how he lives that through sports. Brady drives through Costa Rica and eventually goes surfing, eight weeks before the Patriots' season opener. The footage then cuts to Brady working out with his supermodel wife.
"He did tell me he was only going to play only for 10 years, I just want to say that," Gisele said in the video. "When I met him in 2006, he said listen, 'I'm just going to play for 10 more years and I'm going to win one Super Bowl and I'm going to be happy."
"And I told him last year, I think this is great. What a great win, now you won two Super Bowls. It's the end of the 10th year. Now we are going to go and I was like let's go, I'm ready. But then he's like 'no.'
The cameraman then asked Gisele when Brady when she thought his career would end. Brady flicked off the cameraman.
"Two more super bowls," Brady said. "That could be shorter than five or six years."
Brady - who is playing in his 18th season - said that he still has a "few more" season to go. He won the NFL MVP award for the third time on Saturday night. He was named an All-Pro for the third time this season after leading the league with 581 passing attempts and 4,577 yards.
"I mean football is, far as I'm concerned, like his first love," Gisele said. "It really is and I think it's his main love really, quite frankly."
Brady admitted that football was his first love. He said the love affair began when he was 4-years-old watching San Francisco 49ers legend Joe Montana.
"I don't feel like I'm in the last half," he said. "I still feel like I'm in the first half."
The docu-series episode cuts to Brady driving an ATV to a practice session, while on vacation.
Brady goes on to talk about the Patriots' Week 15 win against the Pittsburgh Steelers being the "most joy he has had in a long time."
He also commented on the ESPN article, which profiled a rift in the Patriots' organization and Brady's relationship with training guru Alex Guerrero.
"Being a public figure and having people say things about you, it bothered me a lot more a long time ago. Now after 17 years of it, I have healthy boundaries," Brady said.
"The people who know me, know who I am, and I'm ok with that. I'm not going to defend everything that someone may say, positive or negative."
"I feel like I just have a belief in who I am. I kind of chart my own course and kind of live the way I live."
Brady also said that the MVP award didn't really matter to him. He said he'd rather win player of the month in February. He'll have his chance when the Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles kickoff on Sunday in Minneapolis.
