Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Adam Jones recently underwent sports hernia surgery.

Jones posted a video on his Instagram account on Thursday, in which he said: "They tell me I'm going to be better than before."

The veteran cornerback also posted another video on Friday of his rehab work, which basically consisted of walking backward.

The 34-year-old Jones saw his 2017 season come to end due to the sports hernia, when he was placed on injured reserve by the Bengals on Dec. 9. He is expected to be ready for the team's offseason program.

Jones appeared in nine games with Cincinnati last season, registering 23 tackles and one interception. It was his eighth season with the Bengals and 11th overall.

The former West Virginia standout has been plagued by a string of off-field incidents, the latest leading to a one-game suspension by the NFL in July for violating the league's personal conduct policy.

Jones was arrested in January 2017 on a felony charge of harassment with a bodily substance and misdemeanor charges of assault, disorderly conduct and obstructing official business as a result of an altercation with a security guard at a Cincinnati hotel.

The Cincinnati prosecutor dropped the felony charge and in May and Jones entered a plea of guilty to obstruction of official business stemming from the incident. The state court imposed a sentence of time served (two days' confinement) and court fees.
