The belief is still that New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski will be ready for Super Bowl LII on Sunday.

But recovering from a concussion is a process, and as of Monday morning, Gronkowski was still in concussion protocol, according to a report from Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. Gronkowski suffered the injury in the AFC Championship Game on Jan. 21.

Gronkowski was able to return to practice on Saturday and Sunday, according to reports, before the Patriots left for Minneapolis on Monday.

These is still ample time for him to be cleared by an independent neurologist for the Super Bowl against the Philadelphia Eagles, but being in concussion protocol means that one of the NFL's biggest stars would not participate in the made-for-TV Media Night on Monday.
