Jan. 22 (UPI) -- USWNT soccer star Julie Ertz cried tears of joy after learning that husband Zach Ertz's Philadelphia Eagles won the NFC Championship.

The superstar couple married in March of 2017 in Santa Barbara, Calif., but were separated by nearly 3,000 miles on Sunday, due to their high-profile day jobs.

"Are they really going? I guess I'm going too," an excited Ertz said on a video posted by U.S. Soccer.

Ertz's teammates surround her with hugs and congratulatory messages after she found out the great news.

Ertz also deserved some praise for her efforts during the USWNT's 5-1 win against Denmark Sunday at SDCCU Stadium in San Diego. She scored off of a diving flick past the Denmark keeper in the 19th minute of the match, giving the American's a 2-1 edge.

Zach led all pass catchers with 93 yards on eight receptions in the Eagles' 38-7 NFC Championship victory against the Minnesota Vikings.

"Emotional for me," Zach told reporters when he was shown Julie's reaction after the game. "I wish she was here obviously. Its tough not having her here but I cant wait for her to get home and celebrate with her."

The Ertzs also FaceTimed after their respective games.

"I'm so excited," Ertz said after the soccer game. She told ESPN she was texting her husband until the game started.

Super Bowl LII pits the Eagles against the New England Patriots at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minn.

Zach attended college at Stanford while Julie was playing soccer at Santa Clara. They were engaged in February of 2016.
